there's so much idle chatter
in the hub bub of our lives
and in the final scrutiny
not much of it survives
sometimes there will be moments
when mere words won't mean that much
but sacred is the message
in the language of your touch
there's many babbling rivers
in the stream of human speech
there's promises and dialogues
and tidings to beseech
a lively conversation
will convey ideas and such
but sacred is the message

there's honest words of counsel
there's both sympathy and pleas
there's stories told, both true and false
and prayers upon ones's knees
a simple word voiced to the wise
can come through in the clutch
