a pipe organ

at first you hear it softly

then the music starts to swell
and it fills the great cathedral
where the holy spirits dwell
its a psalm that says i love you
and i know we'll never part
its a song that i play daily
on the organ of your heart
its a melody of rapture
with a wave of rising lilts
that's unfolding like the fragrance
of the rose that never wilts
its a hymn that's pure and sacred
and it has been from the start
i will never be discordant
on the organ of your heart
its a rhapsody so vibrant
like the wind caught in the trees
with an overture so thrilling
there is trembling in your knees
and i know it to perfection
so i'll never need a chart
and the song goes on forever
on the organ of your heart
