THOSE DARN MAYANS

those mayans sure were handy

with the calendars they made

and now the doomsday issue

at our doorstep has been laid

but when those crazy mayans

made up all those timely laws

they never knew they'd aggravate

the lord and santa claus

the date they had denoted

was december twenty-first

just four days before christmas

that was timing at it's worst

cause santa's toys were ready

jesus had a birthday planned

but because of wacky mayans

both these parties would be banned

so santa claus and jesus

climbed into a time machine

and they went to see the mayans

for they meant to make a scene

and they found the ancient temples

where they kept the secret scrolls

and they scribbled calculations

and then back up, they were rolled

so thank you, lord and santa

you have saved us from a fix

for now the world's not ending

till december twenty-sixth
