now, in the realm of music

you are relatively sure
while playing on your instrument
that death will not occur

sure, midgets playing tubas
have been crushed and faced their death
and elongated passages
on woodwinds steal your breath

but the noble violinist
is the one that's periled most
that whittled piece of woodwork
holds a haunted hidden host

and i mean the violin spider
who resides in trees of spruce
and when they're strati-varied
are into the world let loose

they carve two little doorways
shaped liked esses, clean and pure
and it makes a perfect outline
for the violin's apertures

and if a careless player
doesn't take the time to check
these spiders crawl right out the holes
and bite them on the neck

quite often there's a concert
with a stunning violin piece
that ends up in disaster
with the soloist deceased

for the spiders abhor music
and it stirs them from their rest
then they crave to slay the maker
of the sound that they detest

and sometimes the bow is resined
but its not for ease of play
the resin holds a chemical
that holds the beasts at bay

you will find that most violinists
put a cloth beneath their chin
but its not because they're sweaty
it protects their fleshy skin

so beware the violin spider
who attacks with little stabs
and i've not even mentioned
the more deadly fiddler crabs
