you'll never find the ending
if you don't know where to start
you have to have a route designed
or how can you depart
to know where you are going
you must know where lies your heart
time flies but you're the pilot
time to figure out your chart
you'll never get the strength up
if your hunger is not fed
you'll not be truly living
till you wake the mind that's dead
for courage is the daring path
the fearful never tread
time flies but you're the pilot
the horizon's straight ahead
you'll never stand up for yourself
if you just sit and wait
your dreams will be defeated
if just left to hands of fate
don't bother looking at the clock
the hour's getting late
time flies but you're the pilot
pick a star and navigate
you'll never get momentum
when your feet are mired in sand
you'll never hear the music
if you don't strike up the band
you've got to meld the pieces
or you'll never understand
time flies but you're the pilot
get your kicks before you land
