Lightening flashed in the dark, black sky
A free light show, for all to see
The thunder crashed, the wind howled loud
The boats had broken free.
The boaters ran from all directions,
Grabbing ropes, to pull them back
Fighting against the force of nature,
Mother natures mood was black.
Rain turned to sleet, then to snow
Ice covered every path
The treacherous conditions meant,
No-one was safe, from Mother Nature’s wrath.
The boats secure, the storm dies down,
Thunder and lightening both left,
The birds sang a beautiful song,
While Mother Nature slept.

Excellent use of language. You painted a very dynamic scene. I enjoyed the read.

Thank you I am glad you liked it, there was a storm a few nights ago at the marina where we live and the wind tore a pontoon and two boats from their moorings, it was very frightening, as luck would have it there was no one aboard the boats at the time.
