Unknown

Who are you? Why am I here?

What’s going on? It is all unclear.

I don’t understand, my mind can’t conceive,

The information I hope to receive.

_ ___ _

Where are we at? Where are we going?

Can you tell me please? I am unknowing.

My final destination, I do not know.

So for now you are whom I must follow.

_ ___ _

But what if I find out, the knowledge I require?

Will it be exactly what I desire?

Will it be so terribly horrible,

That it would cause me to expire?

_ ___ _

But wait a minute, do my eyes deceive me?

Is that soothing light at the end of this tunnel,

The answers to which caused all of my troubles?

Ah, yes! I now know it all, I was once blind, but now can see.

_ ___ _

Oh no! Wait a minute, this is what I feared.

In my mind an image has appeared.

I finally discovered what I didn’t want to see.

It seems you are a murderer, your victim is me!

The Chair

Sitting here, upon this cold, rusty chair.

Feel the reapers grip, take you to,

The deepest parts of Satan’s lair.

No more life will flow thru you.

_ ___ _

You did the deed that sent you here.

The long arm of the law has sealed your fate.

Your punishment will be severe.

Indeed you shall pass thru hell’s gates.

_ ___ _

As they bring down the lever.

All that you can do is wait.

For your lifeline to be severed,

Do not resist it, it is too late.

_ ___ _

A thousand men have gone to that chair before,

A thousand more in due time.

The bolts spread out through the skull,

And sever your lifeline.

_ ___ _

As you fade into the darkness.

Mother earth, you will see no more.

No more regrets, because you’re now breathless.

Enter into the final door.

_ ___ _

Now its over, your life is done.

Eternal agony waits for you.

Hades flames cannot be fun.

You have been purged from the earth, time to start anew.

cool, thanks

I like the poem about the chair, it has good rhyme and rythm. One may wonder what a person feels just before the electric chair takes their life, this poem gives us an idea.

Your style of writing the Unkown reminds me of some of my own poems which i have dubbed mystery poems. I like this one as it keeps the suspense alive then ends with a twist.
