Christmas time is here once more,
I must write a list, and go to the store,
Oh! What fun to see?
All the nice goodies for you and me!
I look at my list,
Now what shall I buy?
There is Jane, maybe a Doll,
I know that’s what she would like,
Then there is Ben,
He would like a bike,
For mum now let me see!
A nice warm nightdress may be?
Now Dad he’s always a problem,
I know, a nice new pipe,
I hope he will be happy with that.
Now what next, Oh! Yes a tree,
We must have a Christmas tree,
So around the store I search high and low,
To find the biggest tree,
It must have twinkerling lights as well,
Some pretty barbules to decorate some tinsel,
A big great Star as well,
Now back home we go through the snow,
Our home is warm with the fire aglow,
I look out my window at the falling snow,
Jane and Ben are all excited,
Father Christmas is coming tonight,
We must go to bed early and close our eyes tight,
Mum brings in the tray,
With wine and mince Pies,
The Carol singers are singing outside,
It’s now time to raise our glass,
Cheers and a merry Christmas to one and ALL
