REMEMBERING WHAT LOVE WAS
Sometimes when I close my eyes
I let my thoughts run free,
I remember what love was
When you were here with me
Loving you was such a joy
You look ahead and knew,
How to make true love grow
When ever I was with you,
Deep within your passion
You gave just everything,
Nothing was a chore
You never found me a bore,
Dreams for you had to come true
Because they belonged to you,
Every day was new
Our love had to feel fresh and true,
Lust was not a thing you liked
Trust was important to you,
You never thought of yourself
To you others alwayscame first,
Romantic and old fashioned;
You opened the door,
Send roses galore,
alt
Even lit my cigarette even though
You never smoked,
Pull the chair when I sat down
Held my coat before we go out,
If I had to describe you true
I would say: "A TRUE GENTELMAN THAT WAS YOU"
Still they are now only memories
Of the TRUE LOVE I ONCE KNEW
