A CHILDS SOUL

Silence child you must not tell,
Living in a house which is like a prison cell,
A thump a kick I know these so well,
Huddled in a ball I cry and weep,
Run away I thought
But where to go,
I'd be a child without a home,
My saving grace to all the pain endured,
Was my dog who loved me so?
Always there to love and hold,
Being just a child, you never told,
Of the beatings and cruelty,
THAT TORE AT YOUR SOUL!
