Pools of blood on the ground,
People crying,
Scared for their life as what they see unfold before them.
People cannot help but to gaze in fear.
The twin towers,
The first one collapses to the ground,
Creating a huge dust cloud,
The cloud lifting people up like or tornado.
People scream and run,
Trying to get away with their life.
What is there to do?
No one can move.
Fire fighters,
Pedestrians,
Children,
All looking at the remains of the first tower,
Hoping the second one does not come down.
Photographers not sure if they can capture the fear,
All trying to give the world something to view long after.
People,
Not black or white anymore,
Everyone is grey...
Not from dust or debris,
From sadness.
The second tower comes crashing down,
People evacuating from the mall,
Some are crushed,
Some still trying to route through the second tower,
Crushed or buried alive.
There is no hope it seems,
None at all.
The day seems over,
People on the streets crying.
People who are injured being cared for.
We need to get these people out,
All transportation is currently shut down.
Boats,
All over the New York harbor are called.
Finally they can be evacuated safely.
People stay and burn out the fires,
Hoping they can save some people,
Hope that people are still alive.
Five survivors in the debris,
Thats all.
All the others were not alive.
Then a photographer grabs it,
Three firemen hoisting the American flag at ground zero.
Heroic,
Patriots,
Honorable.
People are mourned,
People are found,
People are lost.
No one will forget this day.
What we did.
What others have done.
Digging through debris to find people,
Evacuating people from the scene.
This is America,
And we are going to protect our land.
No matter the cost.
We are going forward to defend freedom.
As the flag still stands,
We are united.
And no matter what,
This will be with us.
In rememberance to all of the people who have lost loved ones, friends, siblings, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, and grandparents. We will not forget, they will always be in our hearts. Thank you to all the brave fire fighters who helped evacuate people, save people and even risk their lives to save others. And to the photographers, the pictures that they risked their lives to take to make sure all of the world sees what went on. Thank you to everyone playing a part in others survival. And RIP the people who have died. September 11th, 2001.
