And The Tears Still Fall
I thought this cycle was over,
I thought this unneeded, unfortunate, war of love was fought,
Because you had once lied and said that you loved her.
But I was wrong, there was wrong in the thought.
Still, your love was the only thing she had sought.
She didn’t want things to end this way, wanted to move on,
And the moment she looked away, you and your memory was gone.
How could you leave?
How could you act like nothing ever happened between you and her?
She fought for her life, the tears she tried so very hard to conceive…
Yet in the end, you acted like nothing mattered.
Like she wasn’t important. Like she wasn’t your best friend.
The love you shared, the times you spent; just because your love wasn’t going to work,
That didn’t mean your friendship would have to end.
And it kills her everyday knowing that you care,
But you still left, despite the love you shared.
To think that you moved on, but you still think of her as one of your greatest friends,
To think that after three years she’s still hung up on you,
The hurt inside of her continued to ensue. You live your life happily without a clue--
Of the pain she still feels when she hears your name, as the memories swell inside her,
And the tears fall.
They always fall, no matter how hard she tries to keep them inside.
As she tries to cover up the physical and emotional scares she carries, that she’s tries to hide,
In the end, once again, it still doesn’t matter.
Because you’re not there.
And even though she wants to let go, even though she wants to move on,
She’ll always care.
Whether she wanted to from the end or the start,
You’ll still always be in her heart.
