They said they would never let go,
They said they would love forever,
And you thought you trust,
But now you wander around, alone.
All your failed endeavors,
Meaningless love letters,
Have been blown away in the dust.
Because even though you passed up love for the friendship,
Even though the want still sticks to your skin like leeches,
You can't give up. You still beseeched for them to stay.
You implored, you begged,
But they still left anyway.
Leaving you behind, as if you meant nothing to them,
When so many times before they had contradicted that statement.
And even though you shouldn't have, you still lamented over their departure.
Because watching them go was like a part of your soul being crushed to pieces,
And the world is dark, gray, and incredibly bleak.
It doesn't almost seem worth living for,
No matter how hard you tried, it just seemed you were abhorred by them,
By their hatred that reverted so fast from love.
Yet again, when they reappear, everything seems fine, forgiven,
Even as the darkness reappears.
Sent into oblivion, despair and depression take hold,
And their true form showed.
But for once, a sort of happiness reappears when you realize that you're the same;
That all the fights, all the anger, all the sadness?
That you were both to blame.
And suddenly, once again, love wraps its warm, unfamiliar embrace,
But you wake up from that dream. And it seems like the end of days;
When the one person you love can't seem to find happiness in you,
When they've sunk so low from where they were that,
They don't know what to do.
Like watching through glass as they drown, the buried pain,
As it raises its ugly head, once again, ensues.
The love left behind blows away in the wind,
To its end,
To its demise.
And nothing seems worth living for anymore.
Because what could you do to bring them back?
When you don't know who you are, how can you even begin to help someone else?
For you, love isn't bliss.
Until you wake up from this dark dream,
Reality is the killing blow that doesn't miss.
