Just for You
Love, a beautiful thing, isn’t it?
Darkened by evil hearts and fears,
Tainted by relationships gone wrong, hearts broken, and so many other disasters.
So I do not understand, why I find myself free-falling,
Fast through the air, breaking through clouds, tumbling,
Just for you.
Crazy, it seems, no? After all, I was the pessimist who didn’t want love,
I was the one that seemed so broken that I didn’t even want to pick up the pieces,
But you…you change all that.
Naïve of me, childish and immature might you say, claiming to be in love,
Yet it doesn’t matter what others think;
The way they fling our flaws in our faces, how they try to break us apart,
None of it matters, nothing matters when I’m with you.
The world stops, and all I can see is you, in my future.
If you love me too, and I know that you do,
Please say.
I know I may not be the most loveable person, but with you,
All of that changes.
You’re the best thing that’s happened to me in this shitty life,
And I feel embarrassingly giddy thinking of you.
So, if you really do love me,
Just know that I love you back, and I’m waiting.
Just for you.
