Medicate my body

Change my chemistry

Make my mind do a trick

Just don't burn both sides of the wick

Soon I will be amazing

Transformed into the right person

Everyone wants to see me be

Take all my vitamins swallow them with tea

Keep the prescriptions coming

So I can transform myself

A pill to lose that extra weight

Perhaps I'll make it eight

A capsule to make me happy

Another to make me smart

Take handfuls of meds

I just have to get ahead

Pain pills make me numb

So I don't notice my damage

I'll pretend to be blind

Just give me a pill to remind

Change my personality

Lose myself in the high

I couldn't seem to just go slow

Oh no here comes the low

Just ignore the side effects

Blow off the warning signs

Give me qualities I never had

Just take away all the bad

After all expectations drain me

I'll just drink some liquid energy

Finally I see that I am hurting

Most likely over medicating

In the end I'm still not perfect

I never lost weight for long

Mistakes are still made

Consequences that will never fade

Even now I can't pay attention

Biggest regret of all taking that first pill
