Memories gripped me,

In the crowdiest place,
My eyes searched for you,
Memories kept me hoping.
In the saddest moment ever,
Memories kept me smiling.
Your absence grew me stronger,
I could fight back every tear,
I could forget every fear,
Memories kept me living.
Thus, I moved on and on
Embraced life to the fullest
Met happiness, shunned loneliness.
Dreams overpowered me,
Memories stepped back
I knew I was losing something
But I was too far away
Memories knocked again and again
But I never opened the door
Today, you are still not here.
Strangely, I am missing you!
Where are the memories?
That kept me breathing!
Where are the memories?
That kept me laughing.
Tears settled on my eyes,
Breath wrestled down my heart,
As I realized…
Memories faded away,
