Beneath the Crowd

Poetry By: Nanoficto92

Everyone needs to poke fun at themselves once in a while. So what better way to make gun of myself than a humorous exaggeration of my vertical limitation.

Beneath the crowd I seem to crawl

Like an insect compared to others I seem so small.

If I were to play a game of hide and go seek

I could hide in plain sight and never be beat.

You could look over my head without lifting up yours

Then again I stand eye level with your stomach that roars.

I cannot reach things on the shelves placed so high

But I still try to anyway, I don't mind the climb.

While my vertical limit may seem like a pain

From my standpoint it gives me more reasons to aim

For the moon for the stars for the heavens above

So what if I'm short, it's the view that I love.

Beneath the crowd is where I will stay

and where I will be noticed by someone one day.
