My beating wings!

These tired things

cannot fly much longer.

Feathers fluffed,

the weather toughed.

Heaven is gold,

but skin is cold.

cannot fly much longer.

Good as dead,

my spinning head!

Sin is wrong,

a constant song.

cannot fly much longer.

Golden gates,

choice of fates.

Shining hair,

bodies bare.

cannot fly much longer.

Kiss of cloud,

a misty shroud.

From Earth depart,

a new start.

cannot fly much longer.

Movements flowed,

my face glowed.

Heaven was bliss,

much to miss.

cannot fly much longer.

Angelic voices,

right choices.

Brilliant light,

gowns of white.

cannot fly much longer.

My love is sent,

hope is bent.

Journey of life,

full of strife.

cannot fly much longer.

Death longer still,

I have had my fill!

cannot fly any longer.
