Magnolias of the Earth

Poetry By: NazireC
Poetry

A poem I wrote in high school, when I was very confused and very conflicted. It's apparent throughout the poem but I just could not part ways with it. For some odd reason, it one of my favorites I've ever wrote.
The rest is I think rather self explanatory!
Hopefully you'll like it as much as I do.

Magnolias of the Earth

Magnolias...
Sun basked,
Blissed by the moon.

Puny in the world of the giant,
Resilient in the universe of fraility.

As the earth warmed itself
with the sun of the spring,
Magnolias kissed goodbye to the harsh winter,
Signaling the warm summer,
rays of hope.

Sweet scented, but stubborn.

Fall all too often came,
Quickly;
To challenge self made promises,
To withstand and endure
To prove it can protect.
To proudly own upto its flaws of harsh feel, and delicate feelings
For magnolias are the flowers of the unfortunate.

Magnolias were of those unmatched beauty,
Regardless of its difficult to understand frame.

Often thought to be delicate,
It is resilient, sturdy and durable however.

Just like the women of earth.
For the sufferer knew the warth of the punisher.

But with all of its beauty and rough skin,
It will blossom,
Inspite of earth,
Disregarding the difficulty,
No matter pain.

For Magnolias glistened unrivaled under sorrow.

Sweet, but stubborn.

It will continue to grow,
to cover the frozen earth,
To repair it's wrong leave and to give joy
For it was the flower of endurance and hope.
