I never thought it would be Paradise,
I sought a broken journey from the start.
No Shame was masked from my eyes,
nor was life’s suffering a guest to my heart.
And still, the Earth awoke from under my skin,
and winter lands brushed my frozen hair.
I breathed upon the dusk and found it sweet,
I stared upon the dawn and found it fair.
I know black anchors where darkness looms, lie silent
and sky bright streams and night galaxies are rich with stars.
For all its mistakes, I have loved this World
and found its beauty, despite its scars.
Even Angles chorus of Wonders greater still,
I leave in sorrow, much against my will.
