Heart to Okeanos
The inferno descends the vacant blue of her indigo skies
Into the recurring calm,
the bottomless ocean plagued with three thousand sea-nymphs.
Her toes curl beneath the crystal glazes as tears run her speckled cheeks
collecting at her chin and falling
one by one
into the beyond, as all things do with time
and in her search for silence - in atonement for perfection,
she gently removes her quivering heart from her sleeve
And discards it,
Into the hands of Okeanos,
the god of the Ocean.
