Without Her

Poetry By: Nicola Brooks

This was a challenge set by my friend Sisi, better known as Honeypot on another writing site. We both chose a picture for the other to write a poem about and this is mine.

Roses, red with passion,

eagerly reaching,

engaging the sunlight as she rises in the distance.

Loving with each breath as if it were their last.

And such is the aching of affection as is the wilting with desire as the evening closes in,

and the not knowing if they will last another night

without her.
