When time is slowed and particular moments seem to hang in one's memory

To Jessica

We all have these airport moments,

When sun and smiles seem paused

And waiting, for the slowed moment in time

That never comes

We all have these cathartic feelings welling up

Through our eyes,

When skin feels taut and supple

to the touch of the mouth,

But never tastes the same way again

What is surer, is the smell

Of the first leaves of spring

That emerald themselves in the sunlight;

Yellow and pale in the first,

And shading the light in a dark green the next

Seconds

Go unnoticed.

We all have these airport moments

Drinks are consumed in softer time.

And people drift.
