Two china dolls---
I gave the master
One of a black man,
One of a fair girl,
Who both looked young
And blossoming into youth..
‘Keep one doll you like’, master
I tell him
‘For I would save the other one
To give it to someone else’..
The master keeps the two dolls
On the wooden chair and gazes
At both the dolls, a long long time
‘It’s getting late master’, I remind him
‘Please make your decision soon’..
The master slowly gets up
And moves to the shelf in the hall
And brings a large hammer
And turns to the black man doll
Breaking its head
Shattering it to many pieces,
Uttering a cry of rage..
Then he turns to the doll of the fair girl
Takes it gently in his hand
Touches its breast shape
And gives it back to me
“Take this doll home son”, he says
And gift it to someone else--
Most of them will take the fair girl
And the black man
Would not be cared
I cannot see him suffer like this
In extreme pain and despair
For I have now put him out of misery
And ended his plight
God will arrive soon to be his guide
And will send him to the other side…
