Time unravels like little secrets
Whispering winds from my past
Names and faces of those long gone
Dreams dreamt now lost to the dark

And feelings I couldn’t get hold of
The repercussions out of my grasp
Words I could hardly say to myself
Can be spoken now, at last

And these are the days
Of change
And these
Days they go so fast
I’m longing for the touch of your hand
So don’t turn away
When these days
Get a little hard

These days
You’re always in my heart
These days
You’re always in my heart

Time has always treated us unkind
There’s never an easy circumstance
To say what I really feel
But there will always be a chance

That you are within my reach
That this dream will step out of the dark
So that the words I couldn’t say to myself
Can be spoken now, at last

And these are the days
Of change
And these
Days they go so fast
And I’m longing for the touch of your hand
So don’t turn away
When these days
Get a little hard

These days
You’re always in my heart
These days
You’re always in my heart

If you must take your time
I won’t turn away
When these days
Get a little hard
Because these days
You’re always in my heart

thats pretty good. be interested to know how you plan to use the words as lyrics - what I mean is how they are to be spaced out in the music. There's a rhythmic feel to the lines. Just a question about 'you're'. My imagining of the beat would work better with 'You are' but then I don't know how you are going to create this further so I'm left intrigued.

This would work in 4/4, in the key of A I think (A,E,D possibly, I need to map it out on the piano) it's actually slower than you'd probably imagine too. There's no need to change you're to you are, still counts as two cannibals, so they're the same. Well, maybe if I record it and I like it I will update this later. thanks for reading Gazzavis. ~ Nixie

You write music too Nixie?! Is there anything you cant do?;) lol. You are so creative and talented!
I like the lyrics, I hear them as sad and melodic~ soulful maybe? Would be cool if you could sing it while playing the piano and post it on your site;)

I will see if I can't do that! :) Depends how my singing goes, it could go either way - I keep getting sore throats! I think this would be melodic, with an airy feel and I wouldn't mind some acoustics in there too. Oh and to answer your question, I could go on and on about the things I can't do, trust me there's a lot! lol

Thanks for always reading Rain, you know i appreciate it! ;) ~ Nixie

This was really wonderful Nixie. I loved these lines: That you are within my reach
That this dream will step out of the dark
So that the words I couldn’t say to myself
Can be spoken now, at last

Really beautiful. I'd love to hear the music when you ever get it going.

:) You know your opinion means a lot, so I'm so happy you like it. I need to work it out on piano yet but I pretty much know how it will go. I will try and record it as soon as I've got it sorted. Maybe play it to you first before putting it on here, not sure my voice will cut it. Ha! Thanks my lovely! ~ Nixie

I liked the lyrics. Good work. I would now like to hear the live version. You'll have to post the MP3 on your profile... LOL!

Haha! If I get it done you will get to hear it. I have a few days off so I could get the basics down. Glad you liked the lyrics though. Thanks a bunch! :) ~ Nixie

I BET YOU CAN PLAY THE BAGPIPES TOO .
IS THERE NO END TO YOUR TALENTS?
POEM WAS LOVELY AS USUAL .
KIND OF LYRIC'S I WOULD HEAR IN A FOLK CLUB I THINK .
I JUST HOPE YOUR VOICE IS'NT TOO BEAUTIFUL , I SING THE ODD BALLAD IN THE KAREOKE BARS , JUST KNOW YOU WOULD STUFF ME OUT OF SIGHT.

Trust me, my voice isn't great! Ha! i only sing on my songs to give people an idea as to how it would sound, I rarely do it justice though. I haven't got the courage to stand up and sing in a bar, that's waaay to scary! lol Glad you liked this one though Terry! :) ~ Nixie

I love to listen to the acoustic version of this song, Nix. When will your album be available in the market? :-)

LOL full of optimism! :) Well, I doubt it will ever be on the shelf but I will try and sort it so you can hear it on here. I think acoustic will be best for it too. Thanks Jadey, made me smile. ~ Nixie

Very nice, Nixie. I'd love to hear the music to it, the lyrics are beautiful. I love the line-Time has always treated us unkind. How true. Great job. Take Care, Ted

Thank you Ted! Yep, just lately time has been working against me but at least it's fitting in well with my writing. Thanks for reading, I am chuffed you like it, as always! :) ~ Nixie

Thank you Olwen, I'm pleased you tought so. :) ~ Nixie

I loved the song as a poem, flowing like a sweet and gentle river. As far as the song goes, there is only and only 'Time' for me, and that's by Floyd. So I never try to think of any other song related to the topic. Hope you forgive me for that.

Aw, of course not! "Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time, plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines" I love Pink Floyd. My dad is a huge fan so use to hear them a lot growing up. I could never compare! ha! Thank you though for reading, as always. ~ Nixie

If you must take your time
I won’t turn away
When these days
Get a little hard
Because these days
You’re always in my heart

mesmerising words...took me to the world of dreams, all good feelings surrounding me...this poem brings so much positivity...so many fireflies spreading their light...

Fireflies - love that image! :) This is all about faith that time will ease or submit, one of the two. Either way things will be good, and I will always be there... so to speak. I'm so happy that this gave you positive feelings, it really is a positive song - light and fluffy is the sound! Thank you pratibha, again! *SMILES* ~ Nixie

Right Miss NIxie you keep promising these will be recorded, you realise now you owe us an entire ALBUM and if this is not forthcoming I will nominate myself to turn into a nagging fish-wife until you do!

So when we going to that singing bar then? You did say AND it's noyt like you don't have any material now is it? :-)

A piano bar you mean? Lol I'm not sure about singing, after a dink maybe! I can't make a good recording on my computer as I need to buy a sound card for it and I'm poor right now. But I’m still working on the song, and my friend played guitar to it a few days ago and it sounded pretty good! One day Jak you will hear them all, one day! :) Thanks for the comment, you know I love em! ~ Nixie
