If I were a solider in WW1

Poetry By: Nora Yang Hitatori

This poem is about world war-1, The war to end all wars. I just had a little video going through my mind, imaging my self I was a solider who went off to fight in the war. Seeing my self in the trench's and thats how I got the poem writen.

--I didn't even realize--

___That I got out of the trench___

--Walking across no man's land--

___Bullets whistle past my head___

--And Bombs exploding--

___All around me___

--Watching my commrades--

___Fall dead to the ground___

--Everything starting to go black--

___I say a quick little prayer___

--For my family to be safe--

___And for this war to end___

-----------Then I rest in peace-----------

----and not to see the light of day again----
