Free of a life of sorrow,

Escaped from the dreadful past,

Moved on to a life of freedom,

Life in liberty at last.

Imprisonment behind me,

Just positive ahead,

Can't dwell on dreadful memoirs,

I must move on again.

No curtains drawn;no darkness,

Only light paths ahead,

I turn back upon thy coffin,

That is my past life of dread.

I lay roses on thy gravestone,

But I do not hang my head,

I'm free of a life of sorrow,

I must move on, again.
