Flying Lesson

By: Oliver Strode

Page 1, A poem written by me, from the perspective of a very close friend

You never did teach me to fly,

Although you always said you would.

I suppose I don’t really mind that much,

Because at least I knew you could.

You’re really rather lucky, now you live up in the sky,

But I really wish you’d had the time to teach me how to fly.

The winds feel slightly colder now,

It’s difficult to describe.

Maybe they were just as cold before you left,

But I always had you to hide behind

I hope that you can wait for me,

As it may be quite a while.

But maybe in that time I have,

You can still teach me how to fly.
