Captive in Columbia, shaded by the jungle, dark,

afraid, captured, alive, but oblivious to time,

fearing for the worst, afraid to be alive.

Each day like the other, watching others cry,

to live with such terror, to live waiting to die.

to be in such existance, and nothing left no ties

Speak not of the torture, not of the pain,

humiliation, existance, darkness and distain,

Do notdespair forGod looks out,

each and every man women and child.

Returns them to loved ones, arms wrapped,

healing, home at last...there is nothing else.

Thank you, I was moved by the whole story and happy to hear that the kidnapped were rescued. Olwen

Certainly very heartfelt poem. Good stuff! God does provide. This poem has an interesting flow to it, almost like a thousand thoughts just flickering around.

THank you, Matmoo, I was just so moved after I heard that she had been rescued and what she went through. Olwen

Very heartfelt, and in some respects scary. The line "to live with such terror, to live waiting to die" made me sit up straight! I don't have a fear of death, just dyeing before my time, and this reminded me of that. A great poem, as always! ~ Nixie

the line "to live with such terror waiting to die" because i have lived through this feeling..three years ago, and when she was telling her story I felt it in my bones.

I know what it is like waiting to die personally three years ago an intruder broke into my boyfriends home while I was there, he was stabbed to death, while I hid. When I heard about I could never imagine 6 years living like this, I just a taste..and a feel for what she might be feeling.
