Unforgotten (Ihatekungfufrog's Challenge)

Poetry By: omgitskandice
Poetry

So this is my entry for I hate kungfu frog's challenge. My theme was "suicide" and I had to write it in a "palindrome" style. I chose to make the poem itself a palindrome instead of using the words and lines themselves.

Note: I have NEVER tried to commit suicide. I am not promoting it and there are always alternative options out there. Self-mutilation and suicide is NEVER the answer.

Though memories of smiles will last for many miles
My scars will last forever more
Knotted on my arm as a constant reminder
About a time when life was hard
Life moves on, but my thoughts go back
An event I can't forget
Cold metal against my skin
The burn of slicing flesh
The pain will always be fresh in my mind
But even as my life goes on, my thoughts always go back

I am better now, grateful for what didn't pass
Happiness comes, the days are sunny, and life goes on
I am better now, grateful for what didn't pass

But even as my life goes on, my thoughts always go back
The pain will always be fresh in my mind
The burn of slicing flesh
Cold metal against my skin
An event I can't forget
Life moves on, but my thoughts go back
About a time when life was hard
Knotted on my arm as a constant reminder
My scars will last forever more
Though memories of smiles will last for many miles
