Please Rain on My Parade

Poetry

How I feel when my parents try to make me do things. They are so unreasonable sometimes.

Please rain on my parade

I know you want to

when you cry your crystal tears

and beg for me to see the light

what light?

The sun has never shined here

on this lonely life

the girl with the dark hair and darker heart

cries because no one understands

But you say you do

but I say you don't

and off we go

in our circle of sadness

and you send me off

to talk to the stranger

in the bright shiny glasses

that glint into my face

that make me squint

I'd cry if I had any tears left

but I've wasted them all on

our pointless conversations

so rain on my parade

my parade of darkness

that's how I like it

Please rain on it

because I hate the sunlight

and I love thunderstorms.
