Universal Scum

Poem By: P Doobody
Poetry

A brilliant phycisist once said that humans are pretty insignificant in the universe, like scum in the grand scheme of things. This is my quick take on this. View table of contents...

We are small

Insignificant

and tiny.

But so is the bacteria

that emerges from the petri dish

that grows and grows and grows

that changes all before it.

So is the cell that divides and divides once more

A million times, a billion times, producing

life - a human.

Life will grow.

It will multiply.

It will survive.

For the fate of the universe depends on us

being so much more

than just scum.

and...?

But the cadenza is tuned.
It is good, in fact.
It goes on and on Turing running, busy beaving...
...so it never will stop...

Or.
