Child of my heart
Of me you're a part
As a baby - ever so cute
Dimples ‘n all - a real beaut
The toddler stage, then came
So small, so cheeky - what a shame
Quite cheeky was she - and how
Luckily she grew out of it now
A quiet little girl she became
Always in her corner, playing some game
Content with herself, was she
Never tiring of her own company
The teens sneaked up on her, somehow
and this is where she's at right now
although she'll always be my baby
she grew into quite a little lady
Sixteen and ever so sweet
Only the best of life, I pray you'll meet
At the feet of the God of Love
Remain - and blessing will flow from above
Child of my heart
Of me - a special part
As you go on from here - may your behaviour
Be in the will of our Lord & Saviour
