Like a candle so bright
You always shone your light
A forever smile on your face
All concerns you would embrace
Never too busy to listen
Your eyes would always glisten
Thinking of a plan to assist
Was a challenge you could not resist
A person full of life
No matter if there was strife
Your personality so warm
E'en in the midst of a storm
We could all count on you
Of you, there are only a few
Someone who never grew tired
Of helping and we were inspired
By your quality to never give up or give in
Before you would even begin
Never thought that you would leave
So soon as it's with grief
And sadness in everyone's heart
To accept that you had to depart
In our hearts you will remain
The thought of you might bring pain
But in God's will we must rest
For He's taken you to a place that's best
On earth your light is no more
You're dwelling on a higher shore
Our God is now holding your hand
As He's taking you through the Promised Land
