First girl, then woman, now Mother
Our Mother
birth she gave - to children, in total, five
by the Grace of God, all still alive.
Quite a handful we were, I'm sure
but with motherly love did she endure
the process of motherhood
Diligently raising her brood
Never once heard her complain
That we were a pain
Meticulous she was, taking care
So concerned of our welfare.
Quiet, serene, inwardly strong
Firm in discipline when we did wrong
She taught us how to pray
And ask the Lord to guide us each day
Complete health she does not enjoy
And that, we know, is satan's ploy
To rob her of the inner peace
She obtains by remaining on her knees
This burden of ill-health, is not light
She will always put up a fight
Maybe shedding a secret tear
Yet, not succumbing to the fear
A remarkable woman, is she
Amazing, with outstanding quality
An angel, a blessing from above
A mother, we unconditionally love
Now, we are all grown
With families of our own
And we want to express
Our gratitude & love, nothing less
Today, your sixtieth birthday
To God our Father, we pray
That on you, he must bestow
His richest blessings, in overflow
Trials could get quite a bit
But rest in God's love, and never quit
WE LOVE YOU, NOT ANOTHER
FOR YOU ARE OUR MOTHER
