And here it is
That which cannot be faced
The great hidden truth
The defamatory truth
Here it is
The empty chair
Or is it empty words
The place where you are
But where you are not
This is it
The trepidation of a truth
Longing to be a lie
That cannot be found
No matter the reading between the lines
This is the you
And the what you are not
This is the great worldly ignorance
The very betrayer of ideals
Or naivety
The undeniable impregnable truth
That defies passion, hope,
(And the great betrayer of the two) reason
This is it
The destroyer
And redeemer
The truth
The sometimes
Just sometimes…
Sometimes… it,
That,
The all.
Love.
It isn’t enough…

Greeting Pen my dear. It has been a while.

I liked this poem. You deal with you opposing factors very tactfully leading you down the varies possibilites but always pointing you the way you wanted us to go.
Skilled I must say.

Reason is indeed the the betrayer of hope and reason. Love the way you put that.

Though I do have one nitpick. This poem has moments where you are tapdancing around the subject a little too much. Just stretching it out a little too far. Though maybe thats just me.

That said I don't think this is best work, but still a very very good one. I think my fav is still Castles painted in the sky.
As always just a thought.

Author Comment:

Thank you for an awesome comment. I wrote this in about 15 minutes and after reading it a few times I also found it wavered a bit too much but because it helped infuse it with a tone of reluctance to admit to the final line I left it as that.

Definitely not my best but a piece that has some significance in my life.

Thanks again for your comment its always great to get your view point :)
