CHRIST THE SAVIOUR
He knew too deep of God’s love
Yet spoke He in so simple a way
To reach the humblest heart
He loved too great the sinner
Yet hated He his sin
And so died He to save him
He truly knew every heart
The hot bed of vice wellspring of evil
And so worked He perceptibly to heal
He understood mysteries too deep
For Him is wisdom and truth
Yet never lifted He a shoulder nor despised
His right arm thus Almighty
That hath gotten Him the victory
Allowed He to be spiked to the cross
He did everything for the sinner
Yet asks nothing too much of him
But obedience, a humble heart
He left us wondrous history
Where we trace some destiny in His story
Shouting to you and me, He did it for you
