Time's Wife

Ok, so I'm not the best cook. Bite me.

I've longed for the answer…only for my entire life.
Oh yes, I've found it; it'll have to be my time's wife.
Please take a bite, enjoy. Isn't the food delicious?
Thank the lord; my story no more will be actless.
Wait; does it not meet up to your standards?
Has the passing ages caused my eyes to become blurs?
I swear I saw promise, and God, I foresaw a glimpse of joy.
All down the drain, for life, for love, for me. Oh boy.
No more will I conjure the recipes of my desire.
Homeless, that's what it'll read on my flier.
Why is the world just so damn cruel?
One moment, you think you have it all; the next, there's no fuel.
Cooking. Maybe, it's just not meant to be.
Yes, yes, it never seemed to perfectly fit me.
I guess I didn't end up finding what I've been longing for.
Or maybe, I have, and when you find it, you should come to expect war.
Not everyone can me made into a fan.
Life's warning: for others, never allow a ban.
"Follow your heart." Words too easy to say,
If I only I could make them more than words…and make them my life's way.
