Moving On, Left Behind

Poetry By: PeaceLoveLingleton

I am no poet, but this situation just popped into my head and i couldn't think of a better way to describe it.

He was with her for so long
Until a moment up and ended it
She felt she had no strength at all
Without him to help her expend it
He moved on to her friends
One of them agreed
That is where their friendship ends
When the words slip through her teeth
Now one is heartbroken
And one is happy as can be
But I can't help but wonder
Why can't one of them be me
They say it is better to have loved and lost
But without this feeling
Love would have no cost
The first girl has moved on
To better and happy things
She has a place where she belongs
He's the wind beneath her wings
The guy and her friend break up
Everyone wonders why
However, some of them know
Without HER he had no life
Their story continues
Though not as it should be
All because of that first mistake
That had left her so empty
