Paint flies as souls die
And lovers find their mates
Dogs fight as the rooster crows
And food is put on plates.
Babies crawl and mice get trapped
Turtles win their races
Nooses loosen threads of hope
And mourners hide their faces.
Ships sink and cars hit trees
Virgins pop their cherries
A good man dies, a bad man thrives
Get divorced and get remarried.
Time is wasted love is lost
And sweet nothings enter ears
Curiosity kills conniving cats
And children face their fears.
Stars collide and open wide
And ca’pillars get their wings
Rain falls down and hides our tears
As the last one standing sings.
Guns go off and dead men bleed
The ticking bomb is set
Psycho-babble fills our minds
And we make ourselves forget.
