What Can't Be Undone

I'm in one of those moods again.

There was a soul,

We were akin and we laughed,

Then one day we met up and he wasn't whole,

But I dismissed it, said it was daft.

Slowly dwindling over the edge,

I began to feel this unspoken pledge.

One day the words escaped my mouth,

He only stared, his eyes torching my heart,

The emotions bubbling only rose in routh,

Little did I know it was the last time he'd part.

The part of the life you shared doesn't ever leave you,

The only problem is accepting the grief and the rue.
