You Tried

Slowly, I learned to rhyme

But, as expected, after a time

You tried to take what is mine

when it a appeared maybe I could shine

You tried to take away

My impressions of the day

But i still have the words I need to say

I can still make light with gray

I'm' not where I want yet

And whether or not you let,

I no longer feel in your dept

I won't do anything I might regret

So I'm not giving out

Just because you give me doubt

You negativity won't amount

In my loss of what life's about

You gave it you're best shot

to make me someone I'm not

I refuse to let my heart be bought

to be the sort who gives no thought

I want to leave the earth

with more thoughts than at my birth

Share my sadness and my mirth

Reflect a piece of humanity's worth
