Just one more puff.
Quit - STOP - CRYING.
Want - GNAW - GNAW and GNAW.
Just one ciggy more.
Been over a month or so.
Just that GNAW - GNAW.
One tiny puff more.
Beat down the door.
Crawl on the floor.
One more ciggy - more.
GNAW GNAW GNAW.
It stopped by the door.
NO - MORE

I like this one. Shows determination and the pain one has to go throught in trying to give up this habit.
Well done

LOL; 'just one more' ya that one more never ends...glad you quit, I did four years ago with not much trouble at all. I used a bit of self hipnosis; I didn't entertain the thought of smokoing when it came and plus I had really, really wanted to quit.

Thsi really could apply to any addiction....same feeling. Very good.

I quit smoking about 7 years ago. I was a pack and a half a day smoker. It was hard at first, the first month or two being the hardest. From time to time, I still think I want (need?) a cigarette. Not sure if it's a mental obsession, or if I'm still addicted after all these years of not having one. But you hit it on the nail with this poem, the struggle within of that JUST ONE MORE!

I will show this poem to my little sister who is a slave of smoking. My husband succeded in quiting.I hated the smell of smoke not to mention the hazards of passive smoking.Being a doctor myself, I get so sad to see people so oblivious to the oncoming hazards.
well written, indeed.
