A Simple Thanks is not enough

this poem is dedicated to my english professor Dr. Pamela Payne

simply saying thank you is not enough

for all those days i came to your office

seeking your opinion or just to talk

thank you is not the word that needs to be said

it's just too small of phrase to say

maybe then i should say it in french

merci beaucoup

but it feels so insignificant and little

when i try to say this phrase

it's insignificant

like the moon which guides the night sky

but in truth it doesn't

my saying thank you

should feel like the bright sun

that steer the earth towards heaven

because that what it seems you did

just by encouraging me during this difficult semester

but maybe saying it in spanish

will make it feel important and worthwhile

so muchas gracias

but i still feel it's not enough.

this poem was suppose to be to thank you

for caring enough

but i don't have the words to say it

nor do i feel it's enough

but i will say it

because that's the only way to tell how much i am grateful to you

so here it's

i appreciate

i thank you

and finally i am grateful

for the support and steering to the heavens ( which is to stay school , i had to come up with something)

and for believing that i can still make it

even when i doubt myself and feel

insignificant like the moon and

stars of the night skies
