Inside the Rose

On display, behind the glass

Completely untouchable

Vibrant red, a flower of choice

A shallow token of love

I fell inside the beautiful aroma

A rose so seemingly sweet

The petals so soft

and scent so enticing

Nothing but air

beneath my feet

Falling inside, wrapped up in pollen

Lost inside the folds

One petal falls, an I along with it

No one warned me,

of the thorns.
