The leaves fall down around me in a glorious colored eulogy

A last goodbye in the rushing cold

Leaving the barest of whats left inside me

Time to mourn the passing of time

Allowing the past of warm summer disappointment

To fall to the ground at my feet

Cool air tears at my mind as I search for the rays of the sun

I'll keep looking around every fallen leaf

Force my eyes to see ahead of me

Because despite my fear and insecurity

My season of spring is only a promise I can't see

And my ray of sunshine will open its arms to warm me when I find my way
