DOING TIME

By Raine Carosin

22.2.12

Just us two locked up in our cells

Loving each other to block out the hells

Living with thunder and lightning

It can be very frightening

As long as no one tells

But I must write, of that I'm sure

I'm compelled by time and thought so pure

To write it all

Even on the wall

And hope to find a cure

Imprisoned with our needs

fulfilled with planted seeds

we thank the farmer

we thank the knife

and pardon their deeds

Just us two locked up in our cells

Loving each other to block out the hells

Living with thunder and lightning

It can be very frightening

As long as no one tells

There's nothing more to write

It's another loving night

We're not lonely

Got each other only

Not expecting to fight

But there is one more thing

I'm too ashamed to sing

What have I done

Have I lost or have I won

Or is it all the same thing

I've smoothed all my emotions

You've got all my devotions

Time has secured my wiles

My work comes in piles

And I share my potions

Don't dare to jump to conclusions

These here are my illusions

They're real to me

They're my reality

Don't make them your delusions

There's nothing more to write

It's another loving night

We're not lonely

Got each other only

Not expecting to fight
