If I had another chance to dive into this beauty,

I'd wonder if that was all there was in the end,

And if we'd never leave this place in here,

Escaping the melancholy sugar bend.

Only pure innocence and carved statues,

Belonging to one another hand in hand,

Until it all surrounds the living creatures,

Who cry tears of joy for our taken stand.

We are travelers in this universal sorrow,

And we wait for our daydreams to rescue,

The tender feelings that draw us close,

Together in our cradle of life subdued.

And we know we must listen to our mentors,

Who prod us to take in further knowledge,

And further the open-mindedness within,

Creating a canvas while we stand on the ledge.

Contemplating why we try, why we yearn,

For something better than what we already have,

And we fall apart more, yet continue to learn.

Not to give up, not to give in, and press on,

So let's not let go of what we have together,

Each other and ourselves we are bound,

To the vows we took once to be made better.......

Again, you amaze me RaisinGirl :)

Your wonderful use of description really stood out to me. Like a lot of your stuff, I felt like I was right there in the moment. I really hope you continue to write for a long time!

This was a very well written poem in all aspects. I truly appreciate your message conveyed, and I really enjoyed these lines:

We are travelers in this universal sorrow,
And we wait for our daydreams to rescue
The tender feelings that draw us close,
Together in our cradle of life subdued.

I felt these lines stood out because of its flow, and also because of the unique and poetic way you chose to portray you emotions. The way you phrased this was simply astounding.

This was a very well written poem, and I am hoping to see more :D
