'Cheeti' - The Ants

Poetry By: Rajeev Mishra
Poetry

Ants are real assiduous creatures. They live in a clan and community, real social creatures, obey the orders of their chief or Queen. They work hard, continuously and keep on toiling till they are tramped under a feet. They are the real token of work, an ideal small creature who gives us ‘a lesson of work’.

In a ring, all in a ring - go

Move in order, in a row

Litter at a point, where you feel

Weight of the task, stop and congeal

Pore with a more fleet pace

The token of work, skilful race.

Twirl and linger, detour your move

Meet a compeer under a roof

Conspires with you a diverse plan

Stick to decree of your plan

Stop at a point or budge about it

Perfect your task, bit by bit.

Hush! The silent verdict move along

Like sleek segmented designs marching ahead

Till your dutiful array forges along

To carry a Leviathan out of its bed

The final sentence your chief shall give

"Dispose or devour it and live".

As wind fires its fancy around

Slack up impassively, devoid of sound

Summon of adversity may fall on way

If unimpaired, prolong your serving sway

Until the final thrust pounds upon you

Be a chum afore an outer view.
