Shadows

They grab and pull at me,

The images in the shadows;

They call to me

When they reach out,

I try to run but it is no use

The shadows have hold of me,

And won’t let go;

I take one more step back,

And they pull me back into them;

I give my last cry and then I am no more

But a shadow
